Today

It was another full day here in Gulu, Uganda. We began the day by visiting the Children of War Center where over 11,000 child soldiers have been rehabilitated and reunited with their families (there are as many as 50,000 children who have been abducted). I will share some stories in an upcoming block. From there we went to three different sponsored families. It is amazing how generous they are. They always give gifts back no matter how poor they may be. They also feed us and give us sodas to drink. I'm hooked to Mirinda a soda that tastes like a creamy black cherry. We went to lunch at a restaurant and then headed to a non-denomination service for pastors. Kenny and I preached and the Cherry Hills Mission Choir sang - yes you read that right. Ok, don't even ask but we made it through. I will post more later.

John,

Thanks so much for your blog and all your hard work and dedication to the people of Uganda. It has been wonderful to see all the pictures and follow the Cherry Hills team as you and World Vision are truley out changing lives in very tangible ways. That really is what it's all about. May God richly bless you for your faithfulness to him and his call. P.S. GO STEELERS!
