Paicha Bungatira
World Vision works in areas called ADP's (Area Development Program). The Paicha Bungatira ADP is where we are visiting. Here are some updated statistics on the ADP. There are over 41,000 people living here that are helped by World Vision. The average daily income is $0.90 a day. A skilled mason will make $8.00 a day. 40 percent of all household have had someone die of AIDs in the last year. 40 percent of those who died are under the age of 22. 27 percent of all deaths are due to malaria yet more than half of all homes do not have malaria nets. A little less than half of the population does not have access to clean water. Those who do walk 20 minutes to access the water. There are over 16,000 enrolled in school and the completion rate is less than 50 percent. This is the area where World Vision works striving to make a difference. Please continue to pray for Abok Paul the ADP manager and his staff as they attack these major issues.
