My New Friend John

John was eleven when his father passed away from AIDS. When he was fourteen he lost his mother to the same horrible disease. I was amazed how much joy and confidence he possessed even though he had seen such sorrow so early in life. He was sponsored through World Vision's sponsorship program and he and his siblings raised each other. His sponsor family provided for him to go through the university and he now is volunteering for World Vision while looking for a job as a teacher. He is an inspirational young man that did not let adversity get the worst of him but rose above it to be a testimony and inspiration to others.
